This position requires coordination and close collaboration with site leadership, Central Logistics, Global Trade, Program Management, Procurement, Sourcing and Accounts payable to accomplish cross functional goals. The successful candidate will possess leadership and organizational skills necessary to lead a team through complex problems, acting as the subject matter expert (SME) for all major initiatives and high value shipments. The successful candidate will be expected to manage the onboarding and management of carriers to include budgets and performance, including the creation of s for Senior management review. Importantly this position will be expected to work in collaboration with the central team to achieve cost saving goals through implementation of key initiatives across the business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Act as an internal / external consultant – triage situations and provide ‘best’ solutions

• Build relationships and work across multiple internal functions to achieve stakeholder expectations

• Work closely with 3PL’s, local and National carriers to achieve world class OTD performance, resolve all issues that may arise and manage performance

• Communicate and work closely with our freight payment and audit suppliers – FBAP

• Participation in QBR’S (quarterly business reviews) including generation of material to support the review

• Close liaison with Global trade and risk management

• Participate in RFP generations associated with contract renewals / contract awards

• Attend all central logistics meetings / calls as functional representative

• Onboarding and day to day management of carriers

• Maintain / mature the operating systems Flagship / TMS / Supplier Dossier

• Travel 10% of time.

Basic Qualifications:

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience

• Experience utilizing a System Application Product (SAP), FLAGSHIP, TMS – in a freight / transportation environment

• Be able to work independently with high integrity and accountability

• Be able to solve complex problems with a sense of urgency – utilizing networks from across the globe as necessary

• Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills

• Strategic thinker who is able to adapt quickly, thinking outside the box but staying compliant at all times

• Proficient in technology – Microsoft suite / TMS

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree qualified with a minimum of 5 years-experience

• Extensive knowledge of global trade and the transportation industry

• Excellent communication skills

• Self-starter – high integrity and accountability
