Primary Responsibilities:
Evaluate designs and products to support our vision and allow for the most cost effective and efficient manufacturing methods
Identifying design features and manufacturing technologies that will lead to highly producible designs
Collaborate with other teams from design, manufacturing, aftermarket, and finance, to understand full cycle product development goals and expectations on each project.
Effectively collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) throughout entire product lifecycle
Liaise with MRB (Quality and Engineering) to review repeat non-conformances that are hindering operations
Interpret discrepancies on non-conformance records (i.e., NCRs, QNs, etc.) and understand the corresponding engineering disposition in order to identify critical defects in need of immediate corrective action
Provide technical guidance to Operations/Suppliers relative to engineering requirements
Ability to balance multiple priorities, excel in a fast-paced environment and shift gears at a moment’s notice
Traveling between Supplier/Manufacturing sites up to 50%
Additional tasks and activities as assigned by the Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years of working experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment or minimum of 5 years working experience in Landing Gear
Proficient with CATIA V5
Good understanding of Landing Gear design principles
Good understanding of MRB – be able to fully interpret nonconformance records and understand their corresponding dispositions.
Strong understanding of GD&T per ANSI Y14.5
Good working knowledge of High-strength Steel, Aluminum, Stainless Steels and Titanium materials in Landing Gear applications.
Hands-on knowledge of Quality Systems, Inspection, Corrective & Preventive Action
Familiarity with peculiarities of Military Production and DoD Contracts
Navigational expertise within SAP enterprise system
Navigational expertise within Matrix and SmarTeam PLM systems preferred
Proven record of effectively leading a cross-functional team and delivering desired results
Strong interpersonal skills
Must be able to work well under pressure while maintaining composure
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Must be very well organized and eager to learn new skills
Must be hands on at all levels of product lifecycle
Problem solver who works well with others in a team setting
Remains ethical at all costs
Continuous Improvement mindset
Ability to identify and engage all necessary authoritative resources in a timely manner
Shall be very disciplined technically / professionally / emotionally
