Software Developer Job Description (fully remote)

The Company

Established in 2005, Colet Systems Limited is one of the leading providers of sports betting brokerage software in the world. Our flagship product, MollyBet, is a platform that offers users real-time price comparison and integrated execution across multiple bookmakers and betting exchanges. The platform provides our B2B partners with a suite of risk management services and is supported by best-in-class trading tools.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, tight-knit team supporting the next-generation engine at the heart of the MollyBet platform and developing innovative products and features for our price conscious customers. You will help maintain and extend a large-scale distributed system written primarily in modern C++ and Boost.Asio.

This role is fully remote and open to applicants based outside of the United Kingdom on an independent contractor basis.

On a day-to-day basis your responsibilities will include:

• Writing high quality asynchronous C++20 code and testing it.

• Working closely with the company’s CTO to solve complex technical problems.

• Reasoning about multi-threading, networking, and mission-critical infrastructure.
• Cooperating with team members on interesting projects using an Agile methodology and tools (Scrum, Gitlab, Jira).

Qualifications and Experience

Core skills required:

• At least 2 years applicable experience (e.g. C++, Python) in a commercial environment.
• Solid understanding of OOP concepts and modern C++ features, including memory management facilities such as smart pointers, move semantics, etc.
• Experience with multi-threaded applications and TCP networking.
• The ability to produce good quality code in a timely manner.
• The ability to communicate well and work productively in a team on a remote basis.
• Knowledge of Linux and Git.

Desirables:

• Knowledge of Boost.Asio or similar asynchronous frameworks.
• Familiarity with AWS.
• Familiarity with Python.
• Familiarity with SQL and Postgres.
