About the role

An exciting position has become available for a Finance Manager – Transformation & Emerging Business driving growth strategy and possess an entrepreneurial mindset.

In this role you’ll autonomously lead the delivery of Smarter Selling plan and finance partnering for Emerging Business including Coles Group data insights.

A finance lead supporting the business in Smarter Selling portfolio reviews & ‘Best for Coles, own the financials – commercial review, governance, and integration of the transformation program across Operations and build out the Operations strategic plan beyond F22, corporate plan, 10-year plan – work with business to build the future plan and size initiatives.

What you’ll be doing

• Partner with and support senior leaders in the function to provide commercial strategy and decision support.
• Lead the end-to-end strategy communication and cascade from GM, State teams, regional managers, stores.
• Own and ensure integrity of Strategic ELT and Board presentations
• Lead role supporting the group ambition for data & support cross functional insights journeys to identify end to end cross functional use cases for data.
• Lead a team that generates insights and recommendations for key projects, including Emerging Business concepts, that will drive end to end profitability improvement, through advanced modelling and analysis of financial and non-financial data (e.g. market insights and trends, profitability, cost, and efficiency analysis).
• Provide coaching and mentoring to a small team of Finance Business Partners and/or Business Analysts and/or Graduates.
• Lead the development of better ways of working and system/process improvement.

Good things you’ll need

• Finance experience in a retail environment desirable but not essential with the right combination of experience
• Experience in developing and managing high performance finance teams
• Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders to create high quality outputs and strategic, commercial, and financial outcomes
• Proven experience in delivering identifying business opportunities/challenges, recommend alternate actions, and oversee implementation
• Proven ability to drive organisational change
• CPA/CA qualified
• Strong understanding of the businesses and functions it supports
• Displays competent technical skills in areas of accounting, principles, quantitative analysis, and corporate governance #LI-FIN
