Job Summary:

Operates a variety of heavy equipment, vehicles, and tooling utilized in construction and/or plant production activities.

Highly qualified candidates will have experience operating multiple pieces of equipment in related field. All candidates will be required to assist with other tasks related to asphalt plant construction. This would be a great opportunity to cross train on multiple types of equipment. All prospective candidates should enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather, be open to working in a fast-paced environment and have the ability provide excellent service to internal and external customers.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid drivers’ license (ability to maintain a clean driving history required)

Skills:

• Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience in operation of heavy equipment operation preferred
• Ability to work with others in a professional manner
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work under pressure of deadlines and problem-solve
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Physical Requirements:

• Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
• Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
• Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects
• Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
• Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
• Regularly required to work from a seated position operating equipment for long periods
• Frequent exposure to loud noise
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration
• Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
• Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
• Occasionally exposed to working from high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation*: $24-$28 DOE

• Estimated target starting compensation; actual compensation to be determined based on assessment of an individual’s qualifications, education, and experience relevant to the role.
