Colac Otway Shire Council Hiring for Coordinator Management Accounting Job at Colac Full Time

Colac Otway Shire Council is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Coordinator Management Accounting with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to undertake this senior role within the Financial Services Department.

With a focus on providing effective leadership and professional advice, you will be able to demonstrate a track record of supporting other business units to achieve their corporate objectives and drive initiatives to ensure all resources are efficiently managed and accounted for. You will also foster a culture of customer service, continuous improvement and best practice outcomes.

Reporting directly to the Manager Financial Services, this hands-on position will interact regularly with all areas of Council and work in a motivated and pro-active team environment to provide financial leadership and expertise to:

• Maintain and enhance accounting systems, ensuring all maintenance, changes and upgrades are implemented in accordance with organisational requirements.
• Facilitate the development of the Annual Budget and Quarterly Budget review processes in a timely manner.
• Develop and improve long term financial planning systems and processes that enhance Council’s understanding of financial risks and Council’s ongoing financial sustainability.
• Oversee the integration of asset registers and systems into Council’s existing financial systems, ensuring ongoing maintenance and enhancement to meet reporting requirements.
• Foster a culture of customer service, continuous improvement and best practice outcomes.
• Maintain Council’s fraud and corruption framework, enabling Council to effectively manage and mitigate risks.

And to also support the Manager Financial Services in creating and sustaining a dynamic Finance team that:

• Safeguards the financial integrity of Council.
• Excels in the delivery of our customers’ service expectations.
• Provides financial support and advice to Council’s Business Units, developing relationships and assisting the achievement of desired financial outcomes.
