Cognitive Professional Services Hiring for Administrative Assistant at Agana Heights, GU Full Time

Primary Functions/Work Responsibilities:

• Utilize various forms of Uniform Business Office (UBO) program software to create spreadsheets, manage databases and filing systems.
• Prepare invoices, memos, presentations, s, and all other documents in the Military Health System software programs, as required by the UBO Manager or equal.
• Provide high‐level UBO support by handling complex responsibilities, such as reviewing incoming documents, editing documents, performing basic bookkeeping, and conducting research.
• Consolidate simple medical histories of patients in order to assist with processing insurance payments
• Provide information and assistance to eligible beneficiaries based on in‐person, written, or telephone inquiries.
• Ensure all related encounters with disclosed health insurance coverage are effectively communicated to insurance companies within 10 days of the admission/discharge generating on applicable ABACUS s

• Work with insurance companies to provide course of action for UBO Staff to re‐submit claims with appropriate corrections, supporting documentation, or to file appeals to ensure payment;
• Ensure process for delinquent accounts are submitted by UBO Staff to CRS within 60 days of the date of admission/discharge;
• Prepare all necessary paperwork for filing accounts with CRS within 60 days of admission / discharge and debt with ARTIVA Program.
• Work with customers over the phone and at the service window to educate them on U.S. Naval Hospital Guam Uniform Business Office program process and their responsibilities.
• Communicate with insurance companies in pursuit of successful collection of payments;
• Work with UBO leadership to develop and continuously improve processes in order to meet the above program requirements;
• Assist staff members with the cleanup of aged outstanding accounts by preparing account packages and other required processes to satisfy policy requirements as set by BUMED;

Required Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

Knowledge:

• Must possess professional knowledge of customer relations programs and customer conflict resolution techniques

• Experience working in military health care systems with knowledge of ABACUS and CHCS

Skills:

• Excellent skills in written and verbal communication and assessment

• Detailed oriented with attention to accuracy and thoroughness

• Skill in meeting and dealing with people in a courteous and tactful manner
• Skill in operating computers, scanners, copiers, printers, fax machines and e-mail in a work processing/data transcription mode. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and formats.

Ability:

• Demonstrate technical experience in medical insurance process that can handle complex responsibilities such as reviewing incoming documents, editing documents, performing basic bookkeeping and conducting research

• Ability to provide information and assistance to eligible beneficiaries based on in-person, written, or telephone inquiries

• Ability to operate a computer terminal or personal computer, using a standard keyboard with additional function keys to produce a wide range of documents.

Essential Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• One year experience in medical general office environment

• Work a minimum of 40 hours in a work week

• Be a citizen/ national of the United States of America

Physical Requirements:

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some lifting up to 10 pounds may be required and the ability to bend and stand, and file.

Work Environment:

The job operates in a professional office environment.

Travel may be required
