Coding Dojo Hiring for VP of Finance and Accounting Job at Remote Full Time

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• As a member of the Executive Team, help drive consistent financial performance and participate in key decisions affecting the company.
• Direct and coordinate the activities of the accounting, IT, Legal, and Human Resources departments. Train, mentor, and guide the development of their leadership members.
• Establish and maintain monthly, quarterly and annual financial objectives, and disseminate periodic status reports and dashboards.
• Primary oversight and review for timely and accurate monthly financial statements. Provide reports and detailed analyses to the President, board of directors, and executive team.
• Provide periodic analyses of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts, and quickly identify variances that may impact financial performance.
• With the sales and operations leaders, participate in the monthly executive Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process as part of the overall financial and production forecasting system.
• Identify cost reduction strategies and efficiency gains and develop and execute specific plans and goals to achieve them.
• Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts, arrange for debt and equity financing as needed; maintain banking relationships.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce effective internal controls, including delegation of spending authority, and purchase requisition systems.
• With the executive team and President, develop and implement the annual and multi-year strategic business plan, and communicate key portions to internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop financial models and data that help guide and illustrate corporate strategy:
• Sales channel, customer, and program level reporting and analysis
• COGS and gross margin reporting and analysis
• Data and reports for department managers, as well as guidance and mentoring to improve financial acumen and ownership of results
• Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts and projections; perform periodic reviews with the executive team. Manage the capital expense and budget request process.
• Direct and coordinate the activities of the Accounting, IT, Legal, and Human Resources Departments in support of the organization’s needs.
• Develop annual information technology plan, including system upgrades, risk mitigation strategies, reporting tools, website, and ecommerce support.
• Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile, such as product liability and other legal risks, business insurance, and compliance issues, and contract review.
• Maintain relationships with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.
• Maintain Stockholder records and files (dividends, redemptions, communications, reporting, etc.).
• Maintain liaison between the corporation and all outside financial institutions to include, but not limited to, banks, accounting firms, and insurance companies.
• Develop short and long-range operating objectives, organizational structure, and staffing requirements.
• Keep abreast of current trends and practices in field of expertise.
• Ensure that effective internal controls are in place, ensure compliance with GAAP and federal, state, and local regulatory laws, rules for financial, and tax reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 10+ years of experience in Finance and Accounting or equivalent
• Strong corporate executive leadership abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA strongly preferred)
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Excellent practical knowledge of GAAP.
• Ability to implement change and resolve conflicts.
• Strategic planning and budgeting expertise.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, including building and mentoring a strong team.
• Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
• Must be proficient with modern ERP / MRP systems and Microsoft applications.
• Demonstrated ability or experience creating and building financial processes, procedures and systems.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
