Responsibilities:

The Director of Career Services leads program development and efforts associated with Career Services for all Coding Dojo Campus, programs, and online locations. To achieve success, the Director of Career Services is a hands-on servant leader, an effective change agent, compassionate advocate, confident decision maker, articulate communicator, creative visionary, and inspiring leader.

• Responsible for managing all aspects of the Career Services Team, including student career readiness, graduate outcome plans in relation to the target goals set, the development of strong relationships between employers, students and other local resources, and marketing Coding Dojo’s graduates to national, regional, and local employers.
• Create the vision and implementation plan for a comprehensive career development program for students
• Ensure delivery of high quality, comprehensive career services programs combining traditional outreach and personalized counseling that address unique needs of students
• Establish and maintain effective network/relationships with prospective employer organizations
• Develop a comprehensive staff development program including orientation for new Career Advisors, professional development opportunities, and ongoing training for all Career Services staff
• Develop, implement, and review recruitment, selection, and performance evaluation processes for Career Services team
• Develop an event management & social media strategy for employer events (career fairs, employer spotlights, etc…) Lead assessment initiatives for these events
• Develop and ensure progress toward key metrics for program goals
• In charge of placement tracking, holding the team accountable on data reporting through our Hubspot CRM
• Tweaking and revamping the career services program for continuous improvement as needed
• Managing the performance of the team, tools, and student experience
• Work with cross functional team and department in providing insight and feedback to improve curriculum, and student experience as necessary
• Provides individual and group career counseling.
• Provides career-related seminars for interested students.
• Maintains an up-to-date career resources library.
• Produces and directs an annual career information exchange program and a student teacher interview fair.
• Maintains, posts, and/or distributes information concerning full and part-time jobs.
• Serves as a member of the admissions and petitions committee.
• Maintains membership and active involvement in professional organizations.
• Supervises one full-time administrative assistant.
• Directs and develops the university’s cooperative education program as necessary.
• collaboration between other leaders involved in the student experience and placement agency collaboration.

• Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in recruitment, career development, or education
• 5 or more years of progressive experience in career services/recruitment/human resources, with substantial experience in the areas of responsibility listed above
• Experience supporting a services-based business, ideally in an ecommerce, technology, and/or customer-service focused industry
• Proven experience effectively managing remote work teams
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Excellent at managing workflow for multiple projects, with minimal oversight, in a fast-paced environment
• Highly organized, self-directed, and action-oriented, with an ability to work with employees at all levels in a range of functions
• Demonstrated record of managing to budgets, targets, goals, and timelines
• Ability to travel as necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven ability to lead in a fast-paced start-up environment
• Experience in the educational services industry
• Experience with Hubspot CRM
