Position Overview :

Maintenance Technician

Requirements :

• Under minimal supervision, perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and repair of building and equipment supporting the manufacturing and office facilities.
• Responsible for repairing equipment and building components; doors, lighting, mechanical, plumbing and electrical and other equipment as assigned.
• Setup, install and reconfigure new and existing equipment, office furniture and conference rooms.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&ID’s and other drawings as needed for the task.
• Coordinate maintenance service visits with third party Vendors.
• Escort and supervise third party Vendors while performing services on-site. Ensure that contractors are following company and safety polices at all times.
• Follow all Client safety policies and always put safety as top priority (LOTO, PPE, etc.). Escalate issues when clarity is needed on scope, safety precautions and other concerns.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies including FDA, OSHA, EPA, Fire Department, City Codes, Health Department, etc.
• Keep inventory of equipment critical spare parts.
• Execute assigned PMs (Preventive Maintenance) and Work Orders (WO) are completed per schedule.
• Review and technically approves maintenance s, forms, and records.
• Complete and document work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demand :

• Physical requirements include lifting up to 50lbs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, or other physical efforts that are normally required.
• Work is generally performed in an office, manufacturing plant or facilities, although infrequent outdoor and roof work may be required.

Skills :

• Broad knowledge of GMP principles, concepts, practices and standards in the US and internationally.
• Knowledge of basic industry safety procedures related to job description
• Ability to act effectively as a team member to resolve problems.
• Ability to effectively work with all functional groups.
• Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Accurate documentation is critical for this position.
• Requires the use of basic math skills and the ability to use simple gauges.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems and problems.
• Know how to use hand and power tools in performance of duties.
• Strict attention to detail required. Problem detection ability a must.
• Proficient in the use of computers including a wide variety of word processing, spreadsheet software and CMMS (Blue Mountain experience is preferred)
• Self-motivated, flexible and creative individual, able to multi-task, and work in a demanding environment.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and prior cleanroom experience is preferred.
• Able to work over-time, weekends, holidays and on-call.
• 2+ years of maintenance experience in a biotech, pharmaceutical or similar company.
• Must have an excellent understanding of all safety directives and polices regarding the operation of equipment
• Exposure to operations involving engineering disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Environmental, and Industrial.
• Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Education :

High School diploma, relevant trade certification, and some college or vocational training in engineering or utility systems.
