Imagine using your experience to help people around the world hear again! Cochlear is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic university student to join on a casual basis (3 days per week) as a People & Culture Intern.

Cochlear has an exciting paid internship opportunity for an undergraduate University Student to join our People & Culture team, based in our Sydney Headquarters. This is a fantastic role which will develop your business acumen whilst working in a global business environment.

As a People & Culture Intern, you will initially join our Global Talent Acquisition Team to provide high quality support throughout the entirety of the recruitment process – from supporting the recruitment strategy to onboarding new employees! You will also be involved in exciting projects across other areas of the People & Culture department, including People Advisory Service (PAS).

This is a brilliant opportunity to build strong working relationships, with the potential for an eventual pathway into supporting other processes within the employee life-cycle.

Your initial responsibilities will include…

• Schedule meetings and interviews by effectively coordinating the diaries of various internal stakeholders and external applicants.
• Respond to internal and external enquiries in a timely and efficient manner – ranging from managers and employees to external candidates and referees.
• Conduct reference checks and administer online assessments
• Participate in key processes and projects aimed at improving organisational capability and performance and developing your personal skillset
• Document and maintain team process and work instructions for both current and new processes across People & Culture.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and assist in the development of solutions to continuously improve data quality and service.
• Ensure information on Cochlear’s Applicant tracking System (PageUp) is reconciled on a monthly basis, resolving any discrepancy issues.
• Providing AdHoc support to the entire People & Culture department.

To add value to Cochlear in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following…

• Undergraduate student currently studying Commerce/Human Resources (or a related degree) with strong academic record
• Able to multitask, manage workload and meet agreed timeframes
• Excellent organisational skills and demonstrated high level of attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word Superior customer service skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Strong understanding of confidentiality and privacy principles
• Prior experience undertaking a HR internship with experience in Application Tracking System (PageUp is an advantage) is ideal, but not essential
• Experience working in a related field; medical devices, pharma or other consumer market is ideal, but not essential
