About This Opportunity
As Warehouse Manager supporting inter-plant transfers (IPT) you will report into the Plant Manager and be based out of Richmond. Manage the execution of inventory management and process development and realignment in the manufacturing plant. Oversee all inter-plant transfers and transportation; including developing shipment schedules, developing and aligning docking schedules, creating yard management tools and warehouse movement tools. Manage, lead and develop a team of union staff including, forklift operators, shipper receivers, as well as salaried employees; supervisors, inventory analysts, inventory coordinators. Develop and document new processes to drive efficiency including the training of all staff.
Responsibilities
Leading warehouse supervisors, personnel and warehouse functions.
Recruitment of Staff, training, evaluation and development of team members.
Scheduling warehouse team members to meet the demands of the facility.
Leading and managing performance for On Time In Full and Stock Loss for the DC.
Working with Demand Planning, Production Teams and Inventory Teams to ensure inventory levels are aligned to forecast and adequate product rotation is maintained.
Leading and identify improvement projects for the warehouse.
Securing company assets.
Managing within labor and OPEX budget, with a particular focus on performance improvement initiatives that deliver against targets.
Collaborate, work as a team, listen, learn and value diversity in all forms.
Engage people, customers, partners and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum 5-8 years related leadership experience operating in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing or supply chain environment.
Proven track record of leading teams in excess of 75 associates.
Post-secondary education in a related field such as, Operations management.
Experience of leading change and the application of continuous improvement processes in the workplace to deliver performance improvements.
Experience of ISO, Food Safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Knowledge of WHMIS, WSIB, ESA and OHSA legislation.
Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization, its executive team and customers.
Excellent conflict resolution skills, diplomacy, and tact.
Experience of partnering with a union and skilled in dispute resolution.
Excellent planning and resource allocation skills.
Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (Word and Excel).
Requires ability to stand for long periods
