LEAD BOOKKEEPER

Our rapidly growing bookkeeping firms is looking for an individual to join our small team to take on the role of lead bookkeeper. The ideal candidate, you will have 3 or more years of experience as a bookkeeper, working in a fast-paced office environment with an ability to show initiative and proactively resolve problems. You will have a solid understanding of Sage, QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office. You maintain a high level of accuracy in data entry and manage your time to complete work to deadlines. With a wide variety of operations, an ability to communicate professionally across all areas of the business is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Full Cycle Bookkeeping for clients across industries

• Accounts payable and receivable
• Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions
• Update and maintain the general ledger & balance sheet
• Organize and retrieve information from clients
• Create and maintain relationships with clients
• Process accounts receivable/payable
• Process and post payroll in a timely manner
• Reconcile accounts – credit cards, bank accounts, monthly vendors statements
• GST – ensuring timely filing and remittances
• PST – ensuring timely filing and remittances
• WCB – ensuring timely filing and remittances
• Post & Maintain journal entries
• Reports as necessary
• Meticulous attention to detail with excellent communication and organization skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

Our expectation is once we train you on the client work, you will be left to manage your workload/client deliverables/deadlines. In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must have relative experience and or completed training in Bookkeeping and be available to work on site during regular business hours. This is permanent position with no ability to work from home, you must be able to reliably commute to our office.

SOFTWARE SKILLS:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc.)
• Familiar with Accounting software – Sage, Quickbooks Online, Quickbooks desktop, Profile, Caseware
• Gmail – googledocs

Salary: $21.25-$27.21 per hour
