We are searching for an engaging, passionate, Success Coach to help lead our College during this ever-changing Community College environment.

Starting Pay Range: 35,595.00 – 42,000.00

Essential Functions:
The Student Success Coach is responsible for promoting a positive and successful learning experience for CBC students to support recruitment and increase student retention, success, and completion. Responsible for quality success coaching/advising students.  Assisting students with goal setting and providing continuous communication and follow-up to maximize goal attainment. This position specializes in the area of Recruitment/Retention  (see other duties for more information).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide quality success coaching/advising services to students utilize all college resources such as the Cougar Den, Colleague, etc.
• Develops and presents Student Success workshops throughout each semester, which include topics such as time management, study skills, test-taking strategies, etc.  
• Assists students with setting goals and identifying, planning for, and overcoming potential obstacles and defining steps in education and career planning;  
• Builds rapport and trust with students to support successful goal completion;  
• Monitors student progress toward goals by facilitating the Early Alert program and conducts follow-up with students throughout the semester and provides interventions when necessary 
• Supports instructors and program efforts to infuse instruction with persistence and success strategies.  
• Assists students and instructors to problem solve issues that arise related to progress towards academic goals, persistence, and attendance 
• Refer students to the appropriate specialized staff for such issues as counseling, financial assistance, community engagement, etc. 
• Maintain regular communication with students according to college protocol. 
• Maintain records of student interactions as directed by supervisor.  
• Participate actively in program review and other assessment activities. 

Other Duties:

• Active engagement with CBC students, local communities, and school districts to recruit, retain and support students.
• Responds to faculty/staff submitted Early Alerts and supports students in establishing goals to promote success.
• Acts as a liaison for academic support services such as tutoring, library services, and distance learning support.
• Assist prospective students with the admissions process by hosting application/financial aid workshops.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements:

Travel is required for this position. Must have valid driver’s license, and auto insurance to travel to other locations to attend meetings/training. A personal vehicle is required if a CBC vehicle is not available. We encourage carpooling with other CBC employees. 

Environment:
Work is performed under limited supervision in a typical office and/or classroom setting.  Position may require working evenings and weekends. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree in special education, psychology/sociology, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education.  Bachelors Preferred must be complete with in a reasonable time frame.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with students, staff, and the general public courteously and professionally.
