Coast of Maine Organic Product Hiring for Logistics Specialist at East Machias, ME, United States Full Time

The purpose of the Logistics Specialist is to manage of shipping into and out of the facility based in Machias, ME and to facilitate ing and transmission of site data.

The Logistics Specialist will oversee logistic processes and product delivery by tracking and reviewing invoices, shipment status, and delivery route activity.

• Manage all aspects of trucking for all outbound loads.
• As necessary, book / manage trucking for inbound product.
• Negotiate (or renegotiate) pricing for trucking.
• Use DAT and other resources where appropriate to facilitate trucking.
• Track and communicate production activities / data with the Portland Office
• Coordinate with the Plant Manager to make sure product is available and custom shipping items are ready on time with respect to booked trucks (cases added to pallets, etc).
• Communicate with Plant Manager on any shipping issues (mis-ships, customer / warehouse-specific expectations etc.)
• Manage staged loads and communicate / facilitate between trucking companies and truck-loaders onsite.

Requirements

• Prior relevant work experience of 5+ years in related leadership roles
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
• Entrepreneurial spirit and an action orientation
• Ability to pursue, negotiate and persuade 3rd party trucking companies.
• Team mentality and consistent demonstration of that commitment
• Ability to delegate / empower as appropriate.
