Minimum Requirements:
Master’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning in a related field required (education, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership/administration, community college leadership, student personnel, higher education, counseling); 3-5 years of budget management required; 3-5 years of leadership/management related experience in higher education, student services/development departments or p-12 equivalent required; experience in working with collegiate/p-12 judicial affairs required; experience in planning, research, assessment, database management preferred; 3-5 years of experience in overseeing, developing, and implementing student services/development programs and clubs and organizations required; 3-5 years of experience of working with student orientation programs required; knowledge of developing the contents of a Student Handbook preferred; knowledge of FERPA laws preferred; basic knowledge of Financial Aid processes preferred; Good interpersonal skills required.

Position Description: (primary functions)

Provides leadership in a range of programs including all institutional clubs and organizations, student activities and student leadership development, counseling-career services and placement services, mentoring and tutoring services, AmeriCorps Service Programs, publications, judicial affairs and web services

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Enacts policies relative to Student Engagement

Administers and coordinates the Student Engagement Mentoring Program

Administratively supports the function of the Student Engagement Tutorial Program

Administratively supports the function of Counseling-Career Services and Placement Center

Develops orientation programs and activities

Serves as the Executive Advisor for all clubs and organizations and establishes guidelines and approves student organizations and publications

Directs the Coahoma Tribune (publication-student newspaper)

Monitors and evaluates Student Engagement and Programs for the Office of Institutional Effectiveness

Submits reports periodically to the DIRECTOR of Student Engagement

Assists with overseeing judicial affairs and interprets due process procedures

Assists in the development of social, recreational, and cultural enrichment programs and activities

Assists in preparing the budget for Student Engagement

Evaluates personnel and make recommendations for continuance, promotion, or discontinuance

Assists with the Coordination of student life activities and assists with the retention program

Serves as a member of the President’s Administrative Council

Provides assistance and support to the Student Government Association

Provides administrative leadership consistent with the educational mission of the college

Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Engagement
