PURPOSE OF JOB:
To produce quality non-ferrous gravity castings as specified by CMP drawing and work instructions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Load, and control operation of the melt furnaces.
• Alloying metals as required
• Set-up and pre-heat of casting moulds
• Set-up and pre-heat of inserts as required
• Pouring molten metal into casting moulds
• Skim castings and furnaces minimizing dross and slag
• Stamping lot numbers into castings
• Removing casting from moulds
• Packaging castings as required
• Fabrication of inserts, cutting and pressing, as required
• Maintaining a clean work area

SAFETY:

• Follow CMP safety rules and guidelines
• Promote safe work practices as outlined in the Worksafe B.C. regulations.
• Use of appropriate PPE according to the task performed

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have no lifting restrictions
• Participates in daily crew talk meetings
• Completed Grade 12 or equivalent
• Minimum 1-year experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Valid Forklift Operators license, an asset
• Ability to follow the process
• Physically fit to work in a labour-intensive environment while standing for most of the day and performing repetitive tasks
• Good dexterity
• Adaptability and flexibility to work different shifts
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Must be willing to take any additional training/courses as required
• Occupational First Aid Attendant certified an asset, or willingness to do so
• Must be eligible to work in Canada
