CMC Markets APAC & Canada Hiring for Paralegal at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Full Time

CMC Markets are hiring! We have a permanent opportunity for a Paralegal to join our APAC Legal team, based in our Barangaroo, Sydney office. Please note that this role is only open to Sydney based candidates with full working rights (Citizen/Permanent Resident).

Role

The purpose of the role is to support the lawyers in the APAC legal team to enable them to consistently deliver high quality legal services to the CFD and Stockbroking business of CMC Markets in the APAC region and advise the business in relation to legal risks in order to protect the reputation and business of CMC Markets.

Please note that we operate onsite working and would require you to come into our Barangaroo office 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring the APAC legal team’s inbox to ensure all work is appropriately distributed and maintaining the APAC legal team’s task register.
• Managing legal team calendar invites for team meetings and reminders for task specific deadlines.
• Preparing or assisting with the preparation and finalisation of legal documents, including standard form contracts.
• Responsibility over the maintenance of processes within the APAC legal team such as updates to legal documents, debt recovery and invoicing which includes maintaining a variety of registers from time to time such as the:
• Legal Documents Update Register;
• Intellectual Property Register;
• Invoice Register, and
• Material Contracts Register.

• Other responsibilities include assisting with research on topical regulatory developments, managing the Regulatory Tracker and preparing internal memorandums to assist the APAC legal team and the business.
• Providing general administrative support to the APAC legal team including filing documents, amending documents (e.g. marking up handwritten amendments, finalising and formatting documents) and facilitating the signing of documents via DocuSign.
• Processing invoices through iProcurement.
• Maintaining personal/professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, including all relevant regulatory and legislative training.

Key Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Paralegal.
• Excellent organisation skills and high attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and tackle new challenges.
• Strong interest in Corporate & Commercial Law or Financial Service Law.

Desirable

• Financial services experience is highly regarded.
