CM Group Hiring for Finance Manager Job at Sydney Full Time

The CM Group’s finance team is a global team, primarily based in Sydney, Australia and manages the Group’s finance operations for all subsidiaries. This is a newly created role due to the exciting recent growth of our team and will play an integral role in day-to-day oversight of global finance operations, including coordination of the month end close process and responsibility of the Group’s statutory reporting requirements.

Reporting to our Global Financial Controller, your day to day tasks will include:

• Ownership of Group intercompany process, reviewing and verifying intercompany charges, reviewing, and resolving out of balance/intercompany reconciling items

• Liaise with engineering department to develop and maintain internally developed software capitalisation process

• Coordination of the monthly close process, including the posting of month-end journal entries, preparation and review of balance sheet and income statement analytics

• Be the main point of contact for year end reporting requirements, including statutory compliance, preparation of financial disclosures, and liaising with external auditors

• Be responsible for finding and implementing solutions with a constant mindset of continuous improvement e.g. day to day efficiencies, internal control and month end close process improvements

• Assist the implementation teams with onboarding and integration of newly acquired subsidiaries onto our accounting ERP system (Netsuite), including, but not limited to, reviewing, and aligning acquired subsidiaries’ accounting policies and processes, systems implementation, and data migration

• Preparation of technical accounting papers as required

• Oversight and mentoring of your direct report/s

Our ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and a qualified CA/CPA (or equivalent)

• 5+ years experience with a strong working knowledge of IFRS accounting concepts and standards – Big 4 experience and knowledge of US GAAP/SOX compliance is a plus

• Self motivation and ability to work under reasonable pressure within set deadlines

• A desire to learn and willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved

• Strong Excel skills set and exposure to ERP systems (prior knowledge of Netsuite would be advantageous)
