Key responsibilities

• Develop a thorough understanding of the business intentions and the user’s experience to determine if a product delivery performs as needed including research of user behaviour
• Construct well-planned, structured, and repeatable testing of key software and APIs through web and apps.
• Create reusable test scripts, identifying where possible opportunity for automation.
• Ensuring appropriate test data, utilities and suitable monitoring is in place for testing and quality assurance purposes.
• Log and report defects and defect trends to the product design and development team
• Measure and track the quality of software delivered into production and identify measures to improve quality assurance with the product design and development team.
• Support the software development team in defect investigations and resolutions to ensure that any defects are rectified quickly and effectively in test and production.
• Ensure testing activities are prioritised in line with software application / product development and deployment schedules.
• Creation of appropriate documentation / records of testing activities, such that others can understand and repeat / extend / modify your testing scripts, automations, data and utilities effectively.
• Lead User Acceptance testing initiatives involving wider business departments, partners and customers.
• Supporting Product and Programme Managers in delivery of quality customer outcomes
• Research and communicate suitable Quality Assurance frameworks to make testing and quality assurance effective.

Specialist knowledge and qualifications

• Practical and operational experience of applying formal structured methods
• Experienced in using test tools i.e., JIRA
