Building robust relationships with business leaders, you will be responsible for providing strategic HR advise and guidance whilst ensuring all HR activities are fully aligned to the overall HR people plan and delivered to a high quality.
The HRBP will play a key role in leading the people change activities undertaken by the Company.
The HRBP is not a certificated function holder or senior manager function holder but is subject to the Conduct Rules.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnering:
Partner with Heads of Department, Managers and where appropriate, Directors across the Company, providing direction and guidance on all core HR processes, strategic and tactical people decisions
Build and maintain an in-depth understanding of the Company and wider business challenges to enable to effective HR support
Assist the Head of HR, across client groups to deliver the annual people plan, including compensation review, performance review, competency assessment, employee opinion survey, talent and succession audit
Provide specialist HR advice and guidance in line with Company policy and employment legislation to managers of all levels, liaising with legal advisors as required
Provide coaching for managers on people issues to support their development
Pro-actively seek ways of enhancing management and leadership capability across client groups
Manage investigations, disciplinary & grievance matters in conjunction with the relevant Hearing Manager(s) in an empathetic manner, escalating to the Head of HR where appropriate
Facilitate and provide guidance on any Company Development/ Change activities
Facilitate local training activities, inclusive but not limited to Performance Management Training, and relevant training in conjunction with the Group Learning and Development Department.
Continue to identify areas for targeted training for employees and managers across client groups
Manage talent and succession planning activities across the client groups, providing the Head of HR with resultant proposed training plan, and/or resultant proposed strategies
Work as part of the wider Company HR team and where appropriate the Group HR team, ensuring wider team members and Head of HR are kept up to date of any people matters relating to individuals and projects
Work with the Recruitment team and associated managers when required as part of the recruitment process
Identify opportunities for the HRBP team to continuously improve process and policies
Manage the production of monthly MI and relevant dashboards for the Head of HR, offering value-add insight, enabling effective and impactful business and people decisions can be made
Ensure second-eye checks are completed in respect of Contractual documentation and HR system data entry, to ensure HR data remains accurate and fit for purpose
Manage the HR function filing and administration, ensuring it is completed within the Company’s obligations under GDPR on a timely basis in line with the Company and Group policy
Manage the completion of all governance and compliance requirements assigned to the HRBP team, so that all reporting and reviewing activities required by Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required
Deputise for the Head of HR in respect of informal management groups or committees as necessary inclusive of; Business Crisis Management Committee and the Data Governance Committee.
Oversight & Direction
Oversee and provide direction to the HRBP team, ensuring all core processes are completed in a timely manner, in line with legal and regulatory requirements
Provide clear apportionment of process and associated tasks to HRBP team members and monitor the achievement of these, in order to meet associated deadlines.
Oversee the HRBP team alignment to the Company’s strong culture as defined in Our Way, and manage their direct reports in ensuring all line managers and employees are supported and committed to embracing diversity & inclusion, organisational and personal objectives
Reinforce the “tone from the top” ensuring their “tone from the middle” aligns, encouraging an inclusive culture and modelling ethical leadership, WINNER Values and expectant behaviours as outlined in Our Way
Represent the Company and communicate effectively with Group stakeholders, clients, employees
Ensure the HRBP team have open and effective communication, enabling team members to feedback openly and ensure messages are effectively disseminated throughout the team
Manage the HRBP team effectively on a day-to-day basis, through proactive strong talent development & management and remedial action where appropriate
Systems & Control
Adhere and oversee the HRBP team’s adherence to the rules of the Financial Conduct Authority and the Company’s core manuals inclusive but not limited to Our Way our code of conduct, Compliance Manual, Staff Handbook and It Security Policy
Manage the required updates to the Company’s Staff Handbook and HR systems so that they remain up-to-date and legally and regulatory compliance
Manage and monitor the adherence to the Company’s HR processes and Controls, recommending and implementing improvements post the Head of HR’s approval
Assist the Head of HR in the identification of business conflicts of interest within the HR department and the implementation of suitable controls to mitigate these inherent risks
Formal Governance Committees:
Deputise for the Head of HR in her absence, as an attendee of the Company and Group Company formal committees the Head of HR is an attendee of, as outlined in the Company’s current Management Responsibilities Map
Required Skills and Experience
Essential
Level 7 CIPD qualified or equivalent level of HR experience
Experience of partnering with multiple client groups with a demonstrable ability to deliver a high touch, customer-focused service in a fast paced environment activities
A successful track record of delivering people change programmes
Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation
Demonstrable ability to influence senior managers
Excellent management skills with a proven track record of leading engaged teams
Demonstrable ability to work using own initiative and discretion
Ability to work at pace with demonstrable sound judgement
Very strong numerical skills with ability to analyse large and complex data sets into easily digestible information
Strong excel and powerpoint skills with an ability to manipulate and clearly present data and Management Information
