OVERALL SUMMARY

The purpose of the role is to support the FP&A Manager and Finance Business Partner by taking ownership of all pricing, daily/weekly reporting and the production of regular business MI. The role will also assist the sales team by providing data, analysis and insight into their portfolios, as well as helping analyse and forecast financial performance for the business.

Key stakeholders will predominantly be the Sales team but will also involve close interactions with numerous other heads of department across the Premium business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Pricing

• Produce all day to day broker pricings and also take ownership of larger tenders as they arise. The role will also require ownership of the rates paper process, validating and signing off changes in broker rates and rate profiles from a Finance perspective
• Own the Premium pricing / rates paper model and continually updating with accurate assumptions and latest trends
• Ensure pricing strategy is delivered in line with the businesses’ financial appetite for margin and growth, whilst also adhering to regulatory requirements

Reporting

• Ownership of daily, weekly and monthly volume performance reporting, alongside tracking and reporting on the performance of Sales portfolios
• Provide month end variance analysis of the business’ volume performance
• Production of monthly Management Committee and Sales information packs, as well as ad hoc analysis
• Continued drive for delivering insightful reporting that is fit for purpose

Analysis

• Drive analysis of volume performance, allowing for clear reporting on how the business is reporting and why it is performing in such a way
• Refine and improve existing processes and challenge outputs to create relevant and value-adding analysis

• Opportunity to get involved in larger deliverables as and when required

Business Partnering

• Support the Sales team with data and insight into their portfolios, helping drive new business wins and penetration growth
• Provide continued support for Sales queries and ad hoc requests, particularly around pricing and rates papers

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; for example looking at large amounts of data to identify trends
• Ability to translate large amounts of data into useful information and actionable items
• Intermediate MS Office packages, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Evidence of taking ownership and ability to prioritise and deal with a wide range of business requirements, as well as usual activities at the same time to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to influence others
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
• Good SQL and Oracle database knowledge

Education and Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent
• Studying towards an accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:

• Experience of modelling financial performance in excel or Alteryx
• Experience of working with TM1 or similar systems
• Experience of working with Alteryx
