OVERALL SUMMARY

The role focuses on the delivery of financial control surrounding cash payments and receipts made by the business as part of its daily trading activities. Reconciliations are carried out between the company bank accounts, client systems and transactions that are posted and processed by other teams.

Working in a team of five as part of our Finance & Operations team, the post holder will report directly to the Financial Accountant.

The role is 35 hours per week and includes mixture of working from home and working from the Hove office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Cashbooks and Reconciliations

• Daily Cashbooks

Cashbooks split between payments, receipts and trust accounts by currency. Primary currencies are GBP, EUR and USD. Key tasks include:

• Reconciliation control accounts

Process of reviewing journals posted to SAP and ensuring that the general ledger values are correct with any variances identified and investigated within SLA. This would include timely communication with different areas of the business to gain understanding behind the transaction and to discuss a resolution.

Funding and Currency Sales

• Treasury Funding

Calculating the funds required in each bank account to cover daily outgoing payments and arranging for funds to be sent to and from the Treasury Department as required.

• Currency sales

Liaising with Client Managers and the Treasury Department to process daily currency sales in accordance with client requirements.

Additional

• Provide ongoing backup and support to Financial Accountant, Head of Finance, Finance Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO) as required
• Ensuring individual and team monthly reporting requirements and deadlines are met accurately
• Liaison with external and internal auditors
• Ongoing process review and improvement to maintain excellent financial control
• Actively supporting our Vision & Values, ensuring they are promoted and adhered to across the team
• You may be requested to carry out additional duties within the scope of the role and level
• Extended hours are expected during month end periods

Risk & Compliance

• Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:

• Strong numeracy skills
• Good Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work to deadlines and cope with varying workloads particularly at month end
• Able to work on own initiative or with others on tasks with minimum supervision

Education and Skills

• 3 A-Levels or equivalent

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:

• SAP experience
• Analytical experience
• Cashbook experience

Education and Skills

• Level 4 AAT qualified or studying towards with the desire to continue to study onto ACCA or another recognised accounting qualification
