Climate17 Looking for Senior Structural Engineer – Offshore Wind at City of London, London Full Time

Our client is an independent engineering consultancy specialising in the design of offshore energy infrastructure. They have an exceptional team of experienced offshore engineering specialists, delivering practical and pragmatic solutions to the offshore wind industry.

Due to continued success and a growing demand from their clients, they are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join their team of engineers. The successful candidate will have proven experience in design and engineering of wind turbine generator foundations in the offshore environment.

A degree of remote and/or flexible working will be considered for the right candidate. A Bristol base may also be considered.

Essential Experience

• An advanced degree in Civil/ Geotechnical/ Foundation Engineering, Soil Mechanics or a suitable equivalent would be ideal.
• Proven knowledge of structural dynamics, WTG aerodynamic and hydrodynamic loading on marine structures.
• In-depth knowledge of fatigue and fracture of offshore structures.
• Concept and detailed design of offshore wind turbine foundations (primarily monopiles and/or jackets).
• Ability to develop cost, time, resource estimates and project schedules for structural engineering scopes of work.
• Ability to manage small teams of engineers and draftsmen to deliver specialist services to our clients, sometimes within tight timeframes.
• Extensive use of structural analysis/FEA software e.g., SESAM, SACS, BLADED, Ansys & ABAQUS etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive analysis, design and technical review of offshore wind foundation structures for a large portfolio of international clients.
• Assist with the delivery of projects to deliver optimum solutions, on time and to budget.
• Attend regular internal meetings and external or third-party meetings as required.
• Ensure deliverables are completed in full compliance with approved instructions, procedures and policies.
• Liaison with internal and external project interfaces.
• Occasional R&D projects and in-house software development.
• Excellent interpersonal and technical skills with the confidence to liaise with clients.
• Be self-motivated, well organised and a team player.
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.

London HQ (Remote working considered)

£50,000-£60,000pa DOE
