Our client advises developers and local authorities at the pre-construction stage on how to create net-zero blocks, districts, and communities using low and zero-carbon energy technologies. They also advise asset owners and managers on portfolio decarbonisation.

They are currently going through rapid growth in their portfolio and have recently gained new projects throughout the UK and internationally, so this is an exciting time to join the team.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and ambitious Senior Consultant and Project Manager with previous experience in similar roles to help grow the business in the UK. This is a fast-paced role working in a collaborative environment alongside a highly motivated team of energy experts, engineers, and consultants.

Our client is looking for a proactive, organised, personable individual with a can-do attitude to lead projects from start to finish, while undertaking tasks related to winning new business.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be capable of working closely with the project delivery teams and coordinating the development of energy and decarbonisation strategies, which include complex technical, economic, and environmental recommendations. As the business grows, they will also work closely with the UK Business Developer to build and maintain relationships with clients, identify new leads, and coordinate bids and submissions.

Project Management And Delivery:

• Organise and run workshops with customers to identify their needs.
• Coordinate and deliver strategic, economic, and technical analysis, in collaboration with the technical team.
• Steer and challenge contributions from internal and external contributors, and project partners.
• Manage internal and external contributors to projects in accordance with project delivery plans and expected deliverables.
• Produce deliverables on time and on budget to ensure a high level of client satisfaction and secure repeat business.
• Collect customer feedback and share lessons learned with the rest of the team for future projects.

New Business Development:

• Proactively manage and pursue opportunities and clients, presenting offers and attending sales meetings, as well as events and conferences.
• Build and maintain relationships with networks of clients, consultants, and partners.
• Maintain internal CRM system, project, and business information.
• Gather and analyse industry intelligence on key and target markets.
• Create standard and bespoke marketing material and other content/ digital communications collateral.
• Support publicity, including awards, events, exhibitions, and publications, working closely with CMO.
• Contribute to weekly business development meeting with senior management team.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in decarbonisation, sustainability and energy, and an excellent understanding of the built environment industry.

We are seeking an individual with the following skills:

• Master’s degree in engineering (civil/energy/electrical/mechanical) or relevant field, such as Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Climate Change, Urban Development or Sustainability.
• Proven previous UK experience with an engineering consultancy, real estate developer or real estate investment company.
• Proven project management skills with a minimum of 3 to 5-year’s experience leading teams and delivering work.
• Fluent spoken and written English with excellent English language writing and editing skills, both technical and non-technical.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic attitude.
• Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse range of tasks.
• Ability to think about the big picture and understand complex problems.
• Willingness and ability to learn how to use new tools and software.
• Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with MS PowerPoint.
• Understanding of the UK real estate sector, planning process and urban development – as well as an existing network of professionals working in these areas.
• Knowledge or experience of the UK energy sector and system.
• Command of French or German (desirable).

Location: The role is based in London, hybrid working available. Regular travel may be expected either in the UK or in Europe.
