The Role:

The Accounting Team is looking for a Staff Accountant to…

Manage bakery accounting transactions, applying knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Research, analysis and resolution of variances and discrepancies.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensure personal safety, food safety, and quality protocols are followed.
• Responsibilities for various aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statement close.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare month end accruals using Tungsten and E1 reports.
• Review overhead expense account activity for proper coding. Prepare reclass journal entries as needed. Work with Buyers, department managers, and AP to correct recurring coding errors.
• Support sales and use tax compliance.
• Support Capital Expense and Fixed Asset management through reporting, budgeting, capital project close out, and fixed asset internal audits.
• Assist in resolution of PO match issues. Research match issues and collaborate with Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and Bakery Receiving to resolve and improve processes.
• Develop, prepare, and communicate management reports related to operational and financial performance.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
• Assist in financial year end audits.
• Support development and adherence to internal controls.
• Provide Ad-Hoc analysis as required.
• Other projects as assigned by Regional Controller.

Technical Expertise Required

• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook calendar and email management, and written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of JDE Enterprise One or comparable ERP software is also required.
• Ability to manipulate large volumes of data to provide summarized analysis.

Education/Training Required

• Minimum of 4 year B.S. degree in Accounting/Finance or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting preferred.
