The company is focused on democratizing Industry 4.0 innovations through use of novel signal processing and physics know-how with easy-to-use IoT hardware and software. Initial products include a series of sensors that connect their cloud platform to oil and gas tanks and the well head, allowing operators to run their assets smarter and cleaner than ever before, all at a price point order of magnitude below the cost of traditional monitoring or control options.

Job Summary:

As an industrial & manufacturing engineer, you will lead the development and execution of their hardware & deployment scale-up including process management, quality control/testing and sourcing/purchasing. You will be expected to be a key stakeholder in the company’s manufacturing infrastructure and will have significant responsibilities in ensuring the quality and consistency of production. Expected responsibilities include:

• Industrializing and streamlining our manufacturing processes and workflows, including both software/firmware deployment as well as actual hardware construction with the goal of building a system capable of shipping tens of thousands of devices per month
• Creating and iterating on quality control procedures to be used both in-lab and by outsourced contract manufacturers
• Building and maintaining relationships with vendors, comprised of both local and overseas suppliers in addition to local CMs

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

• Experience working with electronics hardware manufacturing, ideally with IoT
• Proficiency with both inventory and fleet management software (for example, Katana & QBO for inventory/accounting, Particle or other carrier-provided interfaces for fleet management)
• Experience with design for manufacturing
• Ability to design and develop QC testing protocols for ensuring both hardware quality and firmware/software compatibility
• Experience with ISO 9001 and similar certifications
• Familiarity with Python
• Ability to multitask between multiple work streams simultaneously
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with circuit design & EDA software (Altium)
• Familiarity with cellular modems or BLE as well as AWS environment
• Familiarity with lithium batteries and low power devices
• Previous experience bringing a product through C1, D1/2 or other hazardous location certification
