The Role:
As a Client Accountant, you will need to demonstrate and adhere to company policy and procedures and to strive for best practice in all areas of financial accounting. In doing this you will need to embrace and demonstrate the following attitudes and approaches to your work:
Responsibilities
- Liaising with Account Management on client billings ensuring they are in line with client contractual arrangements
- Assisting with Month end processes
- Review of job cost reports and invoicing clients
- Ensuring jobs are reconciled and closed in a timely manner
- Review and approval of staff timesheets
- WIP analysis & Update of client revenue forecasts
- Retainer reconciliations
- Monthly update of agency Client Health report
- Working capital (monthly and weekly)
- Monthly BAS Statements
- Prepare adhoc financial analysis when required
Key Competencies in Role:
- Ensure efficient and accurate accounting of client billing and revenue
- Be the best “go to” finance person for your allocated client base
- Prioritise financial tasks and the determination to see tasks through to the end
- Adhere to tight internal controls ensuring all financial information is properly recorded and analysed
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organisation skills
- An exceptional eye for detail and a proactive attitude
- Exceptional team player with great people skills
- Be responsible for optimising and improving the way we work as we move to a paperless and more
- automated way of working
- Able to identify systemic issues, understand the problem well, develop and communicate
- remediation plans to fix them
Desired skills and experience
- Accounting or Business degree qualification
- Great communications skills both verbal and written required
- Experience in Spectra – Agency Finance system (Desired not essential)
- Excel Skills – VLookup & Pivot Tables
