About the Job
The OTTO Motors division of Clearpath is looking for a Software Developer Co-op to join the Fleet Core team.
The Fleet Core team is responsible for the design, integration, and evolution of Clearpath’s fleet management and related system software. Your goal is to assist the team in building a system of robust and efficient software that can be deployed or upgraded by hundreds of integrator partners across the globe with the minimum of fuss.
You will be working with the Fleet Core team to migrate its WebSocket software to a new architecture. This work will involve building upon the currently migrated infrastructure, implementing and testing at scale the newly migrated software.

Requirements:
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the ability to work remotely is a requirement.
Responsibilities include:

• Develop and migrate software for the OTTO Fleet Manager Websocket server’s new architecture
• Test plan development and implementation, for functionality and stability at scale
• Preparation and presentation of design documentation
• Develop and show demonstration of work to the team
• Contribute to design and code reviews

Skills/Requirements:

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage deadlines
• Enjoy being challenged and getting engaged with software development projects
• Practical software development skills
• Team player, good communicator
• Familiarity with developing software in Linux
• Proficiency in Python
• Good understanding of object-oriented design principles

Bonus points for:

• Experience with frameworks / platforms utilizing SQL Databases (Django, Flask, etc.)
• Experience with distributed software systems
• Experience with HTTP REST and WebSocket APIs
• Experience writing unit tests
• Experience using version control (Git, CVS, etc.)
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration process
• Familiarity with network analysis / pcap based tools
• ROS software development experience
• Any software projects developed by you and can be viewed on Github, Bitbucket, etc.
