The Client

My client is an established online learning and development business. They are looking for a Software Architect to help with the re-architecture of their three main platforms.

The Software Architect will provide technical expertise that supports the development and maintenance of innovative software products that meet the business needs and act as a leader for the engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Define and document the software technology blueprint, architecture and frameworks.
• Document and maintain the company’s existing technology portfolio and regularly review to make recommendations for improvements/alternatives.
• Design AWS environment with a focus on microservices architecture.
• Design data models using relational databases with the potential usage of NoSQL, Elasticsearch and graph database such as Neo4j.
• Understanding of application development including system integration APIs and microservices using JVM-based technologies and frameworks
• Develop and recommend innovative ideas from proof-of-concept, prototype to production-ready solutions to stakeholders

Requirements

• 5 + years of commercial experience in designing, developing and delivering large and complex software products from proof of concept to production.
• Demonstrated experience in software architecture, integrations, cloud infrastructure, design patterns, web application development, migration projects, APIs, and/or Microservices.
• AWS certified and experience delivering AWS solution builds including Lambda, DynamoDB and Cognito.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
