Senior Engineer

We are currently looking to attract an experienced temporary works engineer with a focus on Geotechnics and ground works. As a consultancy, the role will be predominantly design and calculation based with the opportunity to train others in-house as well as gain knowledge and experience from us.

2. Responsibilities
 Provide engineering solutions to a range of standard, through to complex and bespoke design requirements
 Provide support to our engineering teams nationwide with design checking
 Preparation of clear and well-structured design calculations and reports
 Ensure design risks are considered and prepare designers risk assessments
 Consideration of buildability and sequencing
 Site visits and client meetings
 Liaising with clients to understand their specific requirements
 Building lasting relationships with clients based on understanding and service

3. Essential Engineering Skills & Experience
 3 to 5+ years’ experience in the following disciplines:
 Structural TWs design including but not limited to:

Falsework & Formwork design
Propping and needling
Façade retention
Hoarding design
Lifting frames

 Ground works including but not limited to:
Sheet pile and soil retention
Working platforms & pile mat design
Slope stability
Tower crane bases both gravity and piled

 Structural assessment and surveying
 Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
 Knowledge of relevant British and European Standards along with more specialist documentation
 Knowledge of safety legislations relating to temporary works
 IT literate and familiar with popular design software packages
 Ability to use drawing software (BRICs CAD)

4. Desirable Skills & Experience
 Either already achieved or aiming towards becoming a Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer
 Experience working directly for main contractors
 Being able work individually on smaller jobs, or as part of a team on larger more complex projects
 Being able to handle multiple projects at any one time
 Being able to manage a small team of engineers (Desirable but not essential)
