The role
When business change occurs, we need to know that our strategy is being carried out in the best, most advantageous way. As IT Portfolio and Change Manager, you’ll be right in the thick of it. Determining the best direction forward for our governance system. Embedding new processes. Continually monitoring, reviewing and setting new standards in performance and compliance. Taking a broad, top-line view of all processes, you’ll asses what works and what doesn’t and think ‘outside the box’ to find new ways of working that will provide long term, sustainable improvement that, ultimately, delivers better experiences for our customers.
When it comes to strategy, you’ll define the end and the means, making sure that not only are your plans for IT aligned with Clarks’ long term business objectives, but that we have the resource in place to deliver on those plans. It might mean switching from internal to external, or vice versa. Whatever’s required to make enterprise IT better and more efficient, you’ll be the one making the decisions and putting the plans together. You’ll lead the way with the kind of communication and insight that inspires audience buy-in – at stakeholder level and within IT departments – and maximises the chances of success.
A bit about you
As IT Portfolio and Change Manager, you’ll connect IT and business objectives. You’re someone who can sit in stakeholder meetings, understand business objectives and see how they might translate into an agile IT strategy that delivers to changing customer needs. This role is all about being pro-active and speaking up when you see a better way of doing things. Your confidence and passion – for driving improvement and seeing the results – is infectious and is baked into the way you manage business relationships. Stakeholders buy in to your proposals. Your energy rubs off on the IT teams who will implement your strategies. And, third party vendors are keen to do their best for you.
Experience has shown you that, when you take the initiative, you get results. That desire to lead and inspire is something you’ve always had and, coupled with your expertise, it’s what makes you perfect for a role like this. You’re at your best when advocating for a new direction. You’ll gladly field the questions for your team and from senior stakeholders and take personal satisfactions in giving answers that change perceptions and generate appetite for change. That’s what makes you instrumental in establishing a culture of improvement here at Clarks – one that values trust, free thought and transparency. And, even though you’re someone who’s spent their career anticipating changes up ahead, you’ll surprise yourself with what you’ll achieve here.
About Clarks
Clarks, based in Somerset, England, has been at the forefront of innovative shoemaking since its foundation in 1825, when brothers James and Cyrus Clark made a slipper from sheepskin off-cuts. At the time it was ground-breaking; a combination of invention and craftsmanship that’s remained at the heart of what the brand does now.
In the Clarks archive of more than 22,000 pairs are shoes that have sparked revolutions and defined generations. From the original Clarks Desert Boot, first designed by Nathan Clark and launched in 1950 to the iconic Wallabee, each design has an instantly recognisable signature – a unique combination of craftsmanship and innovation that make it unmistakably Clarks.
Clarks is a global business operating retail, wholesale, franchise and online channels in over 100 markets worldwide supported by nearly 10,000 employees across the world.
The benefits
We’ve already told you about the degree of flexibility you’ll enjoy as a valued addition to our business – but that’s just the start. As well as development opportunities, pension and a competitive salary, you’ll also enjoy a variety of other benefits. These range from 25 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays) to discounted healthcare. And, as everyone loves new shoes, you’ll also get a very healthy discount on our products.
We love hearing from great people
