The Software Development Engineer (SDE) is a member of the eCOA software development team and is responsible for our Initial Release (IR) software used in Clinical Trials (Studies).
This role has come about due to an internal promotion. In a recent analysis (November 2021), within the UK for the ERT part of Clario, since the start of 2021, 101 roles have been filled, of which 29 have been filled with internal candidates receiving a promotion.

The Software Development Engineer (SDE) is a member of the eCOA software development team and is responsible for our Initial Release (IR) software used in Clinical Trials (Studies).
SDEs are involved in the full project lifecycle, from supporting Solution Designers with specifications, writing the software (built on top of a base product), all the way through to delivering the software for client testing.
SDEs work closely with other developers, colleagues from different functional areas, and from a range of geographical locations worldwide.
SDEs work primarily, but not exclusively, with front-end technologies. The technology stack includes (but is not limited to): JavaScript (ES6 / OOP), HTML, CSS (LESS), Jasmine, GitLab & SQL Server. Software is deployed to Smartphones and Tablets using Continuous Integration (CI).

Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy client applications according to specifications
- Manage the development lifecycle of client applications
- Working closely with Database Engineers, integrate client applications with backend project specific databases
- Participate as the Software Engineer member of a project team lead by a Project Manager, including contributors from Clinical Study Design, Software Quality Assurance and Data Delivery
- Contribute to the development of specifications, planning and the deployment scheduling process, and fulfill software development steps in a timely manner
- Contribute to the company’s main software libraries and implement custom client requirements as outlined in project specifications
- Adhere to relevant Clario Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Technical Experience:
- JavaScript (ES6 & OOP), including working with third-party libraries
- Front-end technologies: HTML, CSS (LESS)
- Data structures: JSON, XML
- Database: SQL Server
- Development: Git & Gitlab
Project Experience:
- Web application development experience
- Full software development experience, from specification to delivery
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to manage tasks simultaneously
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
