Claim Central Hiring for Accountant Job at Matraville Full Time

We are currently seeking a full-time Accountant to support the Finance Team in managing and the reporting of financial information for the Group.

About the Role*

• Perform month end closing activities such as creation & entry of journals for revenue, cost of goods sold, expense accruals, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules
• Calculation of revenue recognition on a monthly basis as per AASB 15 (Revenue from contracts with customers) & company policy.
• Calculation of Work in Progress (WIP) – Revenue Accruals, Deferred Revenue & COGS Accruals.
• Managing all financial accounting including monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Creating company financial reports
• Preparation and delivery of Management reports covering Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet Statement, coupled with variance analysis and cashflow statement.
• Reporting consolidated results at a group level
• Monitoring of internal controls to ensure financial integrity
• Perform data analysis to identify trends and anomalies to advise business on areas to grow revenue, reduce costs of goods sold and reduce fixed & variable expenses
• Part of committee to review annual insurance renewals for Joint Venture business to reduce costs while maintaining appropriate cover.
• Calculation, implementation & updating of AASB 16 (Leases).
• Assist with annual budget workings, forecast and projections for respective divisions and subsidiary entities.
• Liaising with external auditors, including preparing necessary documents for Annual financial audits.
• Process improvement and systems enhancement initiatives, for example – Liaise with .Net Developers on Robotic Process Automation issues finance department.
• Preparation of Fringe Benefit and Corporate Income Tax returns
• Additional financial Other ad hoc duties as required
• Work cooperatively with colleagues in a spirit of support and respect of others.

Successful applicant will;

• Bachelor’s in accounting or finance (required)
• Certified Public Accountant (preferred)
• Competent in MS Office, databases and accounting software
• Efficient time management and organisational skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication skills; both written and verbal
• Positive and personable
• Proactive and results driven
• Ability to travel when required
