Job Summary:

The Manager for the Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) leads the Business Intelligence Analysts team to meet the university’s data analytics and reporting needs. This position is responsible for maintaining the official data store for the university. It works in collaboration with multiple university departments and external agencies to coordinate and meet institutional reporting requirements. Also participates in the development of metrics and SLAs in support of the university’s strategic goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for academic assessment and accreditation. Collaborate with various university departments on institutional reporting needs.
• Support the implementation, maintenance, and extension of a data governance framework. Work with internal stakeholders to arrive at agreed upon data definitions and standards. Collaborate on producing documentation on key data-related business definitions and usage.
• Identify new sources of data and methods to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Assess the accuracy of official university data. Work collaboratively with IT Department to ensure the security of university data.
• Contribute to the development of metrics for tracking university strategy performance and SLAs for key strategic partnerships.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Supervise Business Intelligence Analysts. Provide leadership to ensure success of the department.
• Interview and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with CityU policies and applicable laws.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in analysis, research or related fields, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of five years of related professional experience. Experience in a higher education setting desired.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex problems and requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in business process evaluation and documentation.
• Proficiency in data warehousing and reporting environments (e.g., SQL Server, SSMS, SSRS, SSAS).
• Proven experience in Data Quality, Data Governance, and/or Data Management functions.
• Ability to lead medium-sized projects.
• Working knowledge of PeopleSoft, and/or comparable ERP.
• Proficiency with MS Office products, especially Excel & Access.
• Must demonstrate a high level of customer service, discretion and confidentiality, and organizational and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision, effectively prioritize work, multi-task and adjust to changing workloads and deadlines.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to present information and respond to questions from diverse groups of stakeholders.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
