This role will sit in a newly formed Student Experience team to support and enhance the learning opportunities and experience of students in the School of Health Sciences.
The Student Engagement and Welfare Officer is a vital role in coordinating activities relating to student attendance, engagement and welfare, and provides support to students for enhancing progression and retention throughout their studies. The postholder will play an active role in advising and supporting Programme teams, Personal tutors and Programme Directors with any engagement issues and signpost to relevant services where required.
The postholder will be required to have knowledge and experience of attendance and engagement processes. The successful candidate must be able to work under pressure with time-sensitive tasks, possess excellent communication skills, advise staff, and manage potentially challenging and complex student cases.

During the academic year 2021/2022, City is running a pilot of hybrid working for relevant Professional Services roles, involving a mixture of working on campus and at home each week. The pilot will provide the opportunity to review the way we work, learn, develop, collaborate and use the campus as a workplace in the most effective way to support staff, whilst ensuring that the excellent services and outcomes delivered in support of our students, colleagues and other stakeholders are maintained.
The role is available from 01 August 2022. or earlier by negotiation.
