The School of Science & Technology provides a wide range of both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across a broad spectrum of subjects. Overall the School is home to around 3,500 students studying full time, part time and in modular modes.
The STEM Digital Academy launched within the school in 2021, the ethos is to provide more flexible learning modes to new and existing students. Phase two of the STEM Digital Academy initiative is the creation of a suite of MSc fully online Computing programmes to commence in early 2023.
Please note, that this role commences January 2023.
The post holder will participate in the development and delivery of the modules for the online MSc in Computing, within the Department of Computer Science. This will involve working with the Learning Enhancement and Development team for module development; placement of learning resources on the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE); supporting students taking online modules; setting and marking assessments for the online modules. Being able to work to deadlines, whilst ensuring quality and adherence to academic policies and procedures, are essential to this role.
The successful candidate will have experience developing teaching materials for Computing related subjects at degree level. With specific expertise in Cyber Security and/or Data Science.
They will have experience of supporting students undertaking degree-level study. They will have taught and assessed on an online platform (VLE) both synchronously and asynchronously. They will be skilled in providing pastoral care to students and have excellent communication and organisation skills. They will have a proven track record in delivering student outcomes to a high standard in teaching, learning and assessment. They should also have a PhD (or equivalent) degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
