Summary of Position
Provides excellent customer service to all patrons, callers, and visitors while working at circulation desk and elsewhere in the library.

Organizational Relationships
1. Reports to: Librarian
2. Directs: This is a nonsupervisory position.
3. Other: Works closely with library patrons and performs support services
for Librarian.

Essential Duties
Welcomes and directs patrons to desired areas of interest.
Maintains circulation desk and lobby in neat, clean, and organized fashion.
Provides excellent customer service at all times.
Locates specific material for patrons and refers reference questions to appropriate sources.
Checks books out to patrons and checks returned books back into system.
Signs up new patrons by entering their contact information into computer.
Assigns computer patrons to computers and extends their usage times when appropriate.
Provides point of intake for comments and complaints.
Reshelves books once the checkin process has been completed.
Cleans shelves and maintains books and publications in appropriate order.
Collects fees for printer usage.
Performs other related duties, as requested, directed, or assigned.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Exhibits some knowledge of library science.
Exhibits interest in literature, reading, and literacy.
Keeps records and makes reports accurately.
Lifts up to 30 pounds without physical exertion.
