Recruitment and Talent Advisor

We have an exciting opportunity for a recruitment professional to join our People Team at the City of Portsmouth College (COPC).

As a Recruitment and Talent Advisor, you will play a key role in delivering the College recruitment and talent strategy, with the central aims of attracting, recruiting, and retaining the best talent. Great retention starts with sound recruitment processes and the College looking for an experienced, professional recruiter who can bring knowledge of ‘best practice’ attraction and selection methods.

The role would be suitable for an individual who has a strong recruitment background or an individual who would like to increase their current recruitment experience and knowledge, perhaps stepping up from a recruitment coordinator post. The post is for 21 hours per week and can be worked flexibly, ideally across 3-5 days.

As part of the people team you will have the opportunity:

• To work as part of a recently re-modelled and growing People function
• To experience a unique role allowing you to work across our academic and business support teams on our 4 College Campus locations
• To contribute to the success of an innovative, forward thinking recently merged College
• Support the successful delivery of the recruitment and talent strategy and operational people priorities

No two days in recruitment are the same but main responsibilities include:

• Proactively lead on recruitment projects across all departments of the Colleg
• Ensure full compliance with the College’s recruitment policy and safer recruitment requirements as set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education [KCSIE]
• Manage the recruitment process from start to finish of internal and external roles as per hiring manager’s requirements. Activity will include, document drafting, advertising, shortlisting, arranging interviews, facilitating offersProducing high quality, meaningful, recruitment data to share with the People Team as well as Senior Leadership Team
• Provide support, advice and coaching to managers and staff on all aspects of the recruitment process
• Review recruitment processes making recommendations on effectiveness and efficiencies to improve candidate and hiring manager experience
• Utilise and, where appropriate, provide information to develop the College’s website and social media accounts for recruitment purposes, and develop recruitment strategies
• Work alongside People Partners to support the delivery of the College’s talent management strategy
