This customer service and reception work is performed within the City’s Recreation Department. An incumbent performs front line customer service including but not limited to providing information to the public, program registration, bookings, and promotional assistance. Employees in this class process payments, including but not limited to collecting revenues for program registrations, admissions, pass sales and other revenues. This position will be required to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
This exciting opportunity is for someone who has outstanding customer service skills enjoys working with a diverse group of people and who embraces change and challenges. In Recreation, we take our work seriously, but not ourselves.
The preferred qualifications for this position are:
Customer Service Training Course(s)
Basic Bookkeeping Course
Conflict Resolution Course
Standard First Aid with CPR Level C Certification
Six months related experience in a front-line customer service role, including experience in retail transactions.
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement. The current hourly rate of pay is $22.81 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits, vacations and statutory holidays.
