The Education and Public Engagement Coordinator develops, delivers and coordinates programs and experiences that attract and engage MGA’s audiences as we champion Australian photography, and inspire audiences to embrace, explore and value the art form in all its diversity.

Working within a tightknit team the Education and Public Engagement Coordinator

develops programs that provide an inspirational visitor experience both onsite and online, with programs tailored to schools, tertiary and the general public.

drive and grow audience engagement with programs that are accessible, innovative, inclusive and welcoming to a broad audience

About the Role:
The Education and Public Engagement Coordinator

Plans, develops and supports the implementation of an annual calendar of education and public programs that engages MGA’s on-site and online audiences, which support the development of programs that align with Council priories including but not limited to Health and Wellbeing

Grow audience engagement across education and public programs with high quality, innovative and engaging programming

Work with the MGA team to pivot towards online and hybrid programs that support the growth and development of digital audience engagement, with a particular focus on social media and digital resources

The successful candidate will have:
Degree or Diploma tertiary level education (Heritage, Museum; Arts) with the required experience, or, well-versed relevant experience and work skills required for the position

Experience in a similar role in a Museum/Art Gallery

Classroom teaching experience or museum/gallery equivalent

Demonstrated experience in contributing to the development and coordination of inclusive and accessible audience engagement programs in a museum/gallery context including to schools and tertiary groups and the general public
