City of Irving Texas Hiring for Library Branch Manager at City of Irving, TX Full Time

The Irving Public Library seeks an innovative and enthusiastic manager for its Valley Ranch location. Duties include planning, implementing, managing, directing, and organizing branch library services, programs, and classes; supervising daily operations; and providing leadership and oversight to 22 professional and non-professional staff. This position will assist customers with library account management; perform routine circulation duties; provide readers’ advisory services for customers of all ages; and provide technical assistance and troubleshoot issues with public computers, printers, and other library equipment. The branch manager will work and interact with other branch managers, functional team supervisors, and the library’s executive team, and may participate in outreach activities involving communicating professionally and effectively with community stakeholders. Duties may also include pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Possession of a Master of Library Science degree from an American Library Association accredited college or university is required. Four years of experience performing professional public library work, as well as one year of supervisory or administrative experience, is also required. Bilingual (English / Spanish) or (English/Hindi) skills beneficial. Hours will include some evenings and weekends. A résumé must be submitted with application.
