About the role
In this role, you are an essential member of our Talent Acquisition team to retain and maximise our internal talent aligned with our leadership capability framework and organisational strategy. The Internal Mobility Consultant also supports the Resource Deployment Centre (RDC) that was set up by the Talent, Capability and Employee Experience team in March 2020 in response to the impact of services closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The objective of the RDC is to redeploy employees whose roles have been impacted by changes to services due to COVID-19.

Key responsibilities include:

• In collaboration with the HR Business partner and People leaders, review and update Directorate succession plans, aligned with the Talent Management review process and Strategic Workforce Plan.
• Provide input to change management, restructuring, and organization development activities across the organisation through the lenses of Internal Mobility and Talent Management.
• Partner with key stakeholders to drive the analysis and performance reporting of Internal Mobility services delivered to the organisation and subsequently facilitate improvement of quality and efficiency.
• Coach leaders to a sustainability, strategic thinking and a whole-of-organisation approach through Internal Mobility and Talent Management.
• Partner with our recruitment / Talent Acquisition Consultants to support portfolio overflow, secondments and talent acquisition projects.
• In the event of service closures, responsible for managing the Resource Deployment Centre and its primary activities.
• Actively work with impacted employees and their People Leaders to find suitable and meaningful temporary deployment opportunities within the City in line with the key redeployment principles.
• Ensure recruitment practices are followed in the processes for redeployment arrangements for internal employees including contract management and payroll activities.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a Degree qualifications in HR management or a related field with up to date knowledge of employment legislation and best practice.

Essential Experience:

• Understanding of HR processes and legislative requirements.
• The ability to understand policies and procedures
• Significant demonstrated experience in supporting people leaders
• Experience in liaising with Workforce Industrial Relations Centre of Excellence and HR Business Partners on employee relations including issue resolution management
• Ability to maintain composure during robust discussions and effectively respond in an appropriate, timely and professional manner.
• Ability to manage change, be innovative and to identify process improvements.
• Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making abilities along with the ability to recommend solutions.
