About The Role

In this role, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders and leadership teams to align our digital vision, co-design product roadmaps and manage various teams to ensure the reliability of our technical outcomes and platforms. The position will provide technical leadership across the City, including our digital and data services, as well as IT programs of work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Work with leadership teams and stakeholders in formulating the City’s digital strategy, ensuring alignment to business needs, enterprise architecture, and the leverage of modern digital capabilities which are cost effective, re-usable, scalable, and modular.
• Lead the technology team that focusses on delivery, engineering, run and life cycle management of data platforms, and direct the implementation, rollout and lifecycle management of data practices and platforms to support and enable the City’s transformation.
• Establish modern digital delivery frameworks and practices for our platforms and products and build a high-quality cross functional team supporting multiple products and services across business areas, across IT functions and across domain channels.
• Aligned to strategy, establish the digital foundations required to deliver the strategic business outcomes, across integration & automation, Agile, CI/CD, DevOps, engineering, CMS/Web, and data platforms.
• Partner with the ePMO, providing leadership, guidance, solution architecture services as well as technology delivery assurance and governance to ensure the successful execution of the City’s programs.
• Partner with business areas to leverage effective data and digital solutions to meet customer and business needs, including implementing an expanded range of digital services and transactional capabilities to support improved customer omni channel experience.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), service-oriented architecture (SOA), APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics.

Essential Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or other relevant discipline.
• Six (6) or more years of relevant experience, across several disciplines including solution and/or technology architecture, application design/development, data engineering, digital delivery, across a variety of technology stacks (including security, digital, data, applications, infrastructure, integration, and cloud).
• Three (3) or more years of business and technology experience in strategic management and technology delivery.
• Minimum of (2) or more years of data management and/or data engineering/delivery experience withing the Microsoft Azure cloud data domain(s).
• Familiarity with information and data management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks.
• Proven experience establishing and leveraging integration and automation capabilities.
• Project, program, and solution delivery experience, with proven track record of delivery using best practice and structured methodologies and frameworks.
• Extensive experience working with different types of agile and product-based principles, methodologies, and frameworks, especially those aligned to digital modernization, including DevSecOps.
• Understanding of existing, new, and emerging technologies, and processing environments.
• Strong leadership skills with exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
• Strong consulting skills such as targeted communications, engagement management, stakeholder management and business development.
• Knowledge of all components of solution and technical architecture.
