About the role

This role will directly supervise a geographical group of Contract Educators. The primary responsibilities of the role are to appropriately monitor and support Contract Educators in the provision of a high-quality home-based education and care service, organise appropriate child placements, support the service development in accordance with Council, Commonwealth and State Government guidelines, policies and standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the administration team in the enrolment of children into the service with suitable Contract Educators as required
• Liaise with other professionals and service providers across the municipality, as required, to facilitate integrated service options for families.
• Work in partnership with all families to optimise access to services and support, when required by the family or by their children
• Support the service’s Contract Educators under the direction of ECEC Team Leader or Coordinator in the day-to-day provision of a high-quality service in accordance with the requirements of the National Quality Framework in particular ensuring compliance in line with the Educational and Care National Regulations 2011 and the Education and Care National Law Act 2010.
• Evaluate and identify work practices and processes which will contribute to the continuous improvement of the services and the practices of the individual Contract Educators
• Maintain accurate, up to date, objective monitoring, support and supervision records and other reports and documentation as required.
• Empower educators in their development of independent business practices

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Minimum Diploma of Children’s Services or equivalent Ability to work in accordance with CoGG values and behaviours.
• Several years of experience in the delivery of an education and care service, including direct supervision and guidance of staff
• Proven working knowledge and understanding of the Family Day Care service, the ECS National Regulations 2011 and ECS National Law Act 2010 and National Quality Framework
• Well-developed understanding of the needs and issues relating to families accessing the service.
• Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written.
• Well-developed mediation, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate, facilitate learning and skill development and to empower others.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Competent computer skills.
• Willingness to step up into the Team Leader role during times of leave or secondment and perform tasks as required.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
