About your new role
The City of Gold Coast prioritises a progressive approach to attracting and retaining the right talent. This brand new role is a key leadership position in the People and Culture Branch, responsible for leading workforce and talent programs, projects and initiatives for the City of Gold Coast. The role will provide leadership to a highly skilled team who assists the City with specialist knowledge and advice, leads the development of talent attraction, retention, workforce management and alternative employment pathway initiatives, and engages with industry and education partners to ensure the City attracts and retains the best talent. Working in partnership with business areas, this position leads the development of best practice workforce attraction and retention initiatives and identifies performance improvement opportunities. The Workforce and Talent Management Lead will work in partnership with leadership teams across the organisation to proactively manage current and future workforce trends and will ensure the team is customer focussed in assisting line leaders and HR Business Partners in implementing innovative solutions.

We are looking for a collaborative leader with people management skills and proven experience in motivating staff members and senior leadership groups to achieve organisational objectives. Significant experience in contemporary attraction and talent sourcing and retention strategies and tools with a well-developed understanding of market trends and forces. Experience designing, implementing, evaluating and improving talent programs and approaches.
