The City of Essex Junction is in search of a Health Officer.
The Health Officer will enforce the state’s rules relating to the prevention, removal, or destruction of public health hazards and the mitigation of public health risks. The Health Officer is a position defined in and required by state statute (18 VSA Chapter 11). The Health Officer is appointed by the Vermont Department of Health Commissioner, with the recommendation of the City Council. Coordination with the City via the City Manager is helpful in keeping the City Council apprised of public health issues.
