The City of Chilliwack has an opening for a Full Time Labourer in the Parks Section of the Public Works and Parks Operations Department. These positions are responsible for providing safe, clean park areas for residents and visitors of Chilliwack. These positions will have daily interaction with the public and require a friendly, professional and helpful manner.

Are you the one we’re looking for?

The successful candidates must have completed grade 12, have a valid BC Driver’s Licence, and a good understanding of turf and landscape maintenance techniques. Labourers must have sufficient physical strength and stamina to do manual outdoor work that is often repetitive in nature in all types of weather.

Preferred candidates will have relevant experience involving general labour with landscaping, sports fields maintenance, and or arboriculture. Candidates should also have experience safely operating mowers, line trimmers, chainsaws, and other equipment used in landscaping, trail maintenance, infrastructure maintenance, or sports field maintenance would be an asset.

Education and training in Horticulture, Turf Grass Management and/or Landscape Construction is an asset.
