The City of Charlevoix is seeking a full-time Receipts Clerk to serve as the face of City Hall, greeting and directing visitors and responding to inquiries. This position is responsible for the collection, recording, receipt, and deposit of City funds.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service skills, previous cash handling, three years of clerical, administrative and/or accounting/bookkeeping experience, math aptitude, be proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel, and have the ability to learn tax and accounting software.
The selected candidate will be required to reside within twenty (20) miles (as the crow flies) of the nearest boundary of the City of Charlevoix within 90 days of their date of employment. The City Manager may allow an additional 90 days for a new employee to comply with residency requirements. If the employee’s spouse is employed by a public employer and a conflicting/competing residency requirement result, this section shall not apply to the City of Charlevoix employee (prohibited by MCL 15.602).
Hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The rate of pay is $21.80/hr and includes a generous benefit package. To apply, go to www.charlevoixmi.gov or stop by Charlevoix City Hall to pick up an application. This position is open until filled. EOE
