As the Systems Administrator II, you will act as a support to the Corporate Telecommunications and Audio Visual environment. Primary duties of this position will include:
Perform routine system monitoring by analyzing event logs and responding to alert notifications.
Verify the integrity and availability of systems hardware and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups or automated processes.
Analyze, troubleshooting, and resolving systems infrastructure, hardware, software and networking issues up to and including operating systems.
Submit change requests including implementation, communication, testing and back out plans following standard ITIL framework methodologies.
Create and maintaining system documentation and knowledge base for assigned systems.
Adhere to existing IT policies and procedures and participating in the creation or modification of new policies and procedures.
Ensure that the infrastructure is installed, documented, secured, and maintained in accordance with Corporate Enterprise Architecture Standards and Procedures.
Provide Level 2 support to the Enterprise Service Desk and Voice and Video team; working on Incidents & Problem Management, Fault Management, Configuration Management, Asset Management; Change Management, Document Management, Project Management; Availability Management, Capacity Management, and Service Level Management.
Qualifications
A completed 2 year diploma in Computer Science or a related field with at least 4 years of relevant experience; OR
A degree in Computer Science or related with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
This position requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license (or provincial equivalent), use of a personal vehicle is required.
Working knowledge of Remedy, PeopleSoft, IP Trunking, VoIP, Microsoft Teams, AV technologies including Crestron, Polycom, and Microsoft, as well as aspects about the City’s Voice and Audio Visual architecture will be considered assets.
The successful candidate will possess excellent technical, analytical and report writing skills.
Planning, organization, communications, interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a team environment are essential.

Compensation: Pay Grade S12 $43.33 – $57.93 per hour (2022 Rates)
Out-of-Schedule Rates: $53.83 – $65.41 per hour.
This position is presently paid at an Out-of-Schedule rate to reflect
current market conditions. Should market conditions change, the
salary may be reviewed and may revert to the base rate.
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
